Open QuarkXPress documents directly in Adobe InDesign!

Q2ID is an InDesign-Plug-in which converts documents from QuarkXPress to InDesign. The plug-in is installed by dragging and dropping the plug-in in the Plug-In folder of InDesign. The plug-in is extremely simple to use: Following installation and a restart, InDesign "understands" XPress-documents, which can be simply converted by opening a file. During loading of the document, the plug-in converts it to an InDesign document. When the document is on your screen, it already is an InDesign document, which can be enhanced, edited as you like, and which can be saved as an InDesign document.

What this plug-in can do for you

A few words about what this plug-in is intended for. It is a perfect tool to convert documents you want to further use in InDesign. The idea is a one-time conversion, to take existing documents from one layout software into another layout software. It cannot mimic program specific functions, which have no alternatives in the other software.

Due to the slightly differences in font handling, you might need to check the textflow after conversion. Apart from this, all objects are converted, as well as color lists, style lists and the like.
